Sailing & Watersports

Carsington Sports & Leisure Ltd is a watersports centre based at Carsington Water, one of the largest reservoirs in the UK. They are able to offer a variety of watersports activities as well as cycle hire and fly fishing from boat only.

Whether you are after an introductory session in windsurfing, sailing, stand up paddle-boarding or kayaking or a more advanced lesson to perfect your technique, they will have something to suit you.

Caving

Dolomite Training offer an exciting opportunity to explore what lies beneath your feet. Their Caving days for groups, which are highly recommended, will offer you an amazing underground experience. They can further offer abseiling beside waterfalls and chat about the cave formation; looking at fossils and stalactites or stalagmites and taking you to places where very few people have been.

Gem Panning

Gem panning is a fascinating hands-on activity. Carry your pan of 'sand' to shallow ponds of clean water and swirl the mixture to separate out the hidden semi-precious gems. A case of labelled examples is available to assist with identification by colour and shape. Visitors then get to take the gems they find home with them! A perfect activity for families

Horse Riding

Enjoy riding in the attractive surroundings of Matlock Farm Park, with views over to Riber Castle. Scenic farmland, adjoining beautiful forests and a new purpose built arena provide extensive riding facilities, there is no need to ride on roads.

Cycling

Explore the traffic-free Tissington Trail as it meanders through scenic Peak District landscapes. Ashbourne cycle centre offers a choice of bikes for hire, including adult and child cycles, electric bikes, trail-a-bikes, tandems, buggies, trikes mobility scooters.

The Tissington Trail leads from Ashbourne to Tissington in a three-and-a-half mile cycle ride through a former railway tunnel bringing you to the delights of Tissington Café and the Edward & Vintage sweet shop.

Spa & Beauty

Climbing & Abseiling

Dolomite Training's Peak District climbing courses are tailored to what you want to get from the day so this could be about getting plenty of climbing done whilst having fun with friends or about your skills development.

Dolomite Training also offer abseiling offer for you to jump off Millersdale Viaduct as it is quick and easy to get back to the top for another go. Alternatively, there is the option to choose a slightly wilder or remote feel the crags give and abseil off a cliff.

Go Ape Tree Top Adventure

The classic Go Ape experience. They brief you for safety before you fly down zip-wires, leap off their Tarzan Swing and tackle their crossings whilst enjoying some of Britain's most breath-taking scenery.

Whether your tribe is a stag do, birthday party, or a day out with the kids, Go Ape is a fantastic day out!
